Transition Workshops & Trainings
PEPP, Inc provides workshops and trainings for parents and professionals on the fundamentals of the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEIA) and The Rehabilitation Act to improve educational planning and transition for individuals with disabilities residing in Georgia and other south eastern states. Our trainings are designed to help parents and professionals to better understand key component of these laws that will better enable them to advocate for their children with a stronger awareness to the options available for students with disabilities.
Other services include
1) Assist Parents & Professionals in Understanding the Special Education Process in Public Education -Roles and Responsibilities
2) Understanding the role of Vocational Rehabilitation and services offered
3) Understand the difference between Special Education (IDEA), 504 Plans, SST, and NCLB (No Child Left Behind)
4) Getting involved on a grassroots level: Together, we can make a difference!
5) Building Determination and Self Advocacy Skills in our YOUTH- (geared specifically for youth as self advocates- Youth presentation or a professional/parents presentation for those facilitating these skills)
6) Assisting VR professionals and other agency’s involved in transition planning to build a comprehensive network of service options after graduation
7) Transition workshops- Hand in Hand Transition Part I and II (ages 14 and beyond)
8) How to create a successful Transition Plan- goal writing, assessments and more
9) Building an effective student portfolio
10) Transition Manual
